rendering, lots of information about the proposed New York Stock Exchange Tower at http://www.geocities.com/nyskyscrapers/downtown.html
I work at SOM, New York. The renderings of the NYSE building that you see here online do not do this building justice. It happens to be a very beautiful building with an identity all it's own. SOM's signature style is Modernism. After all, we did start the Modernism movement in the U.S. with Leverhouse. So, that is the influence that you see on the NYSE building. It is clean, simplistic, and functional. However, there is a hint of decoration to the building in the way the facade gradiates from dark to light through a scattering of rectagular panels as the building rises. I've never seen another building like it. This building will be a tremendous addition to the downtown skyline, and will become a new icon and landmark representing Wall Street.
Wes, I am he who put that rendering on my site. Many people have expressed their discuss with the tower. The way you describe it, it sounds as if it would be great looking. If its not to much to ask can you email me an improved rendering of the tower, I would give credits to you or SOM on my site, the only place I would post a rendering of the tower.
I don't think that there's much chance of it getting built now!
