Speaking of the Durst tower, it will have two faces to it. The side that faces times square will have glass and signage like the rest of the square while the side that faces 42nd street will be clad in limestone. Saw the construction in late November and can't wait until the outside is erected.
About the Durst Tower, Carlo Paganelli says a thing very interesting, that is : "Addition as an idiomatic means of expressing the distributional flexibility of interior spaces and, at the same time, of setting the building in its context by mirroring the surroundings. The combination of parts alluding to other buildings also creates a sculptural effect evoking the earliest and most simple forms of cubism. The 'Four' (Durst Tower) actually looks like a huge cubist design abstracted from time by the simple interaction (rather than simultaneous rotation) of its structural elements." I think it is possible to read the design of this skyscraper thinking to the Deconstructivism.
