I am an undergraduate Architecture student and I am doing a report on
the construction of the Seagram Building. Could you pleas help me figure
out what were the matierials used, who did the construction, how was
the construction done and why did they do the construction the way they
did?

(to myself: what did I just say? ;^))
1) Bronze exterior cladding (the structural steel I-beams, in the standard
fashion, encased in concrete for fire protection), brownish-toned glass,
travertine plaza (with marble parapets) and lobby paving + elevator walls,
glass tile lobby ceiling, wood (ivy, walnut) paneling, marble restaurant
pool, stainless steel, brass, aluminium details...
2) George A. Fuller Construction Co.
3) In short, by assembling the frame of steel columns and beams and
the concrete core with wind bracing above the foundations and then
pouring the floor slabs and adding the facade panelling and floor-to-ceiling
glass panes.
4) Well, I'll leave something for you to work out for the report. ;^)
