Here I've written short descriptions of those Trini's film projects I know
something about. Some films are quite unknown to me, so their entry has
only a little more than the skeleton data from the Internet Movie Database.
Any additional info is more than welcome.

Mrs. Soffel (1984), Irene Soffel
(Gillian Armstrong) available on video available on laserdisc (1.85) US video cover

A story based on actual events from the beginning of the century. Pittsburgh prison manager Peter Soffel's (Edward Herrmann) wife Kate (Diane Keaton) helps convicted brothers Ed and Jack Biddle (Mel Gibson and Matthew Modine) escape death penalty and runs away with them herself. Trini plays Irene, Soffel's oldest daughter.

Sweet Lorraine (1987), Molly Garber
(Steve Gomer) available on video US video cover

A romantic and comedial story situated at an old summer resort in Catskills mountains, the Hotel Lorraine. The elderly, matriarchal owner of the hotel, Lillian Garber (Maureen Stapleton) has to decide whether or not to continue running the unprofitable hotel. Her granddaughter Molly (Trini) arrives from Arizona to work in the hotel kitchen and gets engaged in a summer romance. She wants to revamp the hotel and continue running it herself. Trini's parents also appear shortly in the film... The film was awarded the Sakura Prize at the Tokyo Film Festival.

Satisfaction aka Girls of Summer (1988), "Mooch"
(Joan Freeman) available on video available on laserdisc (1.33) US video cover

Justine Bateman stars as Jennie Lee in this a bit campy but still relatively amusing film about a female rock band playing in a summer beach resort and having trouble with drugs, love, sex -- and a stolen van. Trini plays "Mooch", the toughie drummer of the band. Cast includes future stars (Liam Neeson and Julia Roberts) and ex-ones (Debbie Harry).

The Chair aka Hot Seat (1988), Lisa Titus
(Waldemar Korzeniowsky) available on video available on laserdisc (1.33) rated 'R' US video cover

Situated in a derelict-prison-turned-into-a-rehabilitation-facility, this film is a curious mixture of merry comedy and "haunted house" horror theme ("borrowing" from Harlin's Prison) with appropriate SFX. The spirit of a long-since electrocuted prison warden returns to haunt the living, especially the nasty warden Dwyer (Paul Benedict). Trini plays under her true skills to an almost comical effect as grad student Lisa Titus, an assistant to the new manager psychologist Dr. Harold Langer (James Coco).
"Now, in Freudian symbolism, a train going into a tunnel..."

American Blue Note aka Fakebook (1989), Lorraine
(Ralph Toporoff) available on video available on laserdisc (1.33) US video cover

A witty story about a 1960s New York jazz quintet that yearns to make it to the 52nd street and hit the big time. The band, led by saxophone player Jack Solow (Peter MacNicol), struggles through minor gigs, held together by mutual love for music. Charlotte D'Amboise plays Benita, Jack's love interest. Trini appears as Lorraine, the arty "kind of... philosophy" studying girlfriend of the band's drummer (maybe my favourite Trini character of all, despite her shamefully short appearances).
"You're gonna teach me to play bass in two minutes?" "Less."

Stella (1990), Jenny Claire
(John Erman) available on video available on laserdisc (1.33) US video cover

Samuel Goldwyn Jr. himself is the producer in his company's remake of its classic Stella Dallas (1937). Bar waitress Stella Claire (Bette Midler) raises her illegitimate daughter Jenny (Trini) alone, without accepting money from child's successful doctor father (Stephen Collins). Stella finds Jenny getting hard to handle as she rebels against her and spends her time rather with her father and her prestigious love interest. John Goodman plays Ed Munn, barkeeper and Stella's lover.

American Friends (1991), Elinor Hartley
(Tristam Powell) available on video available on laserdisc US video cover*

Friends. A story based on the diaries of Edward Palin -- great-grandfather of ex-Monty Pythonist Michael Palin and a fellow at the Oxford university in the last century -- and planned for four years before eventually filmed. Palin plays the part of Edward (in the film under the identity of "Francis Ashby") as he meets Caroline Hartley (Connie Booth) and her young ward Elinor (Trini) during a holiday vacation in Switzerland. Ashby becomes entangled in a dilemma between love and the upcoming election of the new college president. Alfred Molina plays Oliver Syme, the competing candidate.
*Much cooler than the British video cover, dammit...!
