Cathedral of St. John the Divine (started in 1892, still unfinished) at
Amsterdam Avenue / 112th Street, by Heins & La Farge
(Romenesque plans) and Cram & Ferguson (Gothic plans).
Picture represents the model of the completed church found in the
gift shop in the north transept (the church itself is only about two-thirds
complete, with yet, for example, no towers whatsoever). The cathedral is
the largest Gothic church in the world, and the third largest church in the world,
after St. Peter's in Rome and Our Lady of Peace in Yamoussoukro (in Ivory Coast).
