The Ansonia Hotel (1904) at 2109 Broadway by Paul E. M. Duboy and
Michael Graves was the first air-conditioned building in New York.
The residents of this luxury hotel have included many noted musicians
such as Igor Stravinsky and Enrico Caruso, who could enjoy the
extensive sound-proofing of its residences.
