Last month I was in NYC and I saw the new LVMH tower (57th
Street, architect Christian de Portzamparc) almost completed.
I guess that this is one of the most important piece of
architecture in these recent years in NYC, but I am surprised
about the lack of pubblicity that these original building has
received. Am I wrong ?

Funny that you should send the thread just now, because
only yesterday I read the article on the LVMH from the June
27 NY Times at the local library (the Sunday NYT comes there
about six weeks late, for some reason).
The building must be definitely one of the most original
appearances on the NYC skyline, and as such also certainly
divides opinions.
Although I can't comment on the amount of press about the
building, it will undoubtedly become something a milestone
for yet another bandwagon of architectural style -- whether
the style will be defined as "new Art Deco" as the article
promotes it, is another matter... ED
